With constant changes being made to the technical and regulatory environments, fire safety management for rolling stock is an increasingly complex area. Further amendments to TSIs and CEN/TS 45545 still leave questions unanswered as to where European standards will develop regarding fire protection and the impact of these on manufacturers and operators. In addition, the development of new technologies and systems means that fire protection approaches have to constantly be reviewed. Due to all these changes, better insight into current standards and future trends is needed in order to plan in the long term.

Following the success of this conference series, VIBevents’ 5th annual Fire Protection of Rolling Stock conference will be held on 10th and 11th March 2009 in London.
