Welcome to
11 and 12 March 2008, Hotel Côncorde Berlin, Germany
In recent years rolling stock operators and manufacturers have been preparing themselves for the pending CEN/TS 45545 and the resulting changes surrounding the fire protection in rolling stock. Across the Industry, as operators move towards compliance with the new regulations, the implementation of fire prevention, suppression and evacuation strategies is being tackled from a range of different and innovative angles, whilst closely monitoring capital and operational expenditure.
Now in its 4th year, Fire Protection of Rolling Stock will review key fire protection issues and deliver insight into actual undertakings through rail-operator case-studies. The event will examine strategic issues relating to how the standards will be harmonised; assessing the various fire protection strategies operators are adopting; assessing the technical consideration for current modelling and testing methods, new fire-retardant materials, and the impact of rolling stock fire in tunnels. This event will provide a platform for high level speakers and attendees to debate, analyse and discuss best practice in the fire protection techniques for rolling stock.
