About the Worshop:
Fire toxicity has been incorporated into the new railway interoperability standard (EN TS 45545) though the test method lack clarity on the applicability of the results. This workshop will enable participants to understand key issues and methods in an interactive group session.

About your workshop leaders:
Prof. Richard Hull
Prof. Richard Hull has focussed on fi re gas toxicity, fire retardants and fi re science. He has over 60 peer-reviewed
publications in fi re chemistry. He represents the Royal Society of Chemistry on the BSI Hazard to Life from Fire technical
committee, and am the designated the UK Principal Expert on Physical Fire Models to the ISO Fire Threat to People and the
Environment subcommittee(TC92 SC3).
Dr. Anna Stec
Dr. Anna Stec's recent work focussed on better understanding of the assessment of toxic and irritant life hazards in fi res, and the factors aff ecting fi re gas toxicity. After graduating from Warsaw University of Technology and working as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of North Texas, she did her PhD at the University of Bolton. She was appointed to a lectureship at UCLAN in 2007.
